In a surprise announcement, the Massachusetts courier announces they will discontinue serving the eyecare community as of next Friday, April 24, 2009.  According to their spokesperson, packages picked up from optical labs on the 23rd will be delivered to ECPs, however, they will NOT pickup any new incoming orders for delivery back to our lab.

TheEnhanced Multifocal lens is now available from McLeod Optical.  This product represents an entirely new category of lenses for the correction of presbyopia.  An existing bifocal-wearer whose Add is now greater than +1.75D and who resists changing to either a PAL or trifocals is the primary candidate.  More than a bifocal, atLast has within the virtually-invisible seg area 3 viewing focal lengths: far intermediate, intermediate and near. 
The lens material is called Composite67.  The front surface is Trivex permanently bonded to an Index 1.67 rear surface.  It is available in both Clear as well as Transitions VI grey or brown.
